ARK is short for architecture—the type of engineering work we do every day.
It’s also a reference to Noah’s Ark, the greatest engineering feat in the Bible. We hold ourselves to that same standard—delivering the highest quality engineering our clients can count on.

Our Team

Principal Engineer | Project Manager
Mr. Harel-Canada is the founder and principal engineer of Ark Engineering LLC. Much of his early career was spent commissioning large hospitals and high-performance research facilities containing Biological Safety Level (BSL) 1, 2, and 3 laboratories. This hands-on experience has provided him with invaluable tools for designing new projects and evaluating existing building systems. Currently, he primarily focuses on design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for university, research laboratories, and healthcare facilities. His goal on each design project is to provide innovative, energy-efficient solutions that fit the Owner's budget, especially for retrofits or renovations. His total experience exceeds over 500 design projects and $250 million in total construction cost.

Mechanical Engineer | Project Manager
Josiah has 4 years of experience in the MEPF industry and will be applying for his PE this year, having already passed the exam. He is a skilled mechanical engineer and project manager with an emphasis in higher education and laboratory design. He has also overseen the design of diverse plumbing and fire protection systems on numerous projects ranging from medical procedure suites to schools and churches all over the state of Florida. His focus for each design project is to optimize key systems for maximum energy efficiency and construction cost savings, and he takes pride in being part of a team that always has the best interests of the building owner in mind. These projects have ranged from small equipment retrofits and renovations to new construction up to $30 million in total construction budget. His experience includes designing a variety of mechanical systems for chiller plants, laboratories, classrooms, office spaces, and operating rooms.

Mechanical Engineer
Benjamin Gartside is a project manager and mechanical designer with expertise in HVAC systems, commissioning, and central energy plant infrastructure. He primarily works on higher education and institutional facilities but also has experience in complex healthcare environments and campus utilities. His project experience ranges from $25,000 retrofits to $30 million phased renovations, prioritizing practical energy-saving measures that provide significant cost savings to the user, as seen in his projects at the University of Florida. Ben is skilled at navigating projects with tight architectural constraints, including the MEP modernization of the Ponce de Leon Building at Flagler College, where he upgraded the MEP systems while preserving the building's historic character. From commissioning boiler plants at the Tampa VA Medical Center to managing delicate renovations, he is committed to delivering engineering systems that balance building performance, constructability, and site-specific requirements.

Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer
Andrew Breeden is a staff engineer with experience in institutional work and higher education as well as medical and laboratory work. Andrew is skilled in energy modeling and plumbing systems, and his focus for each project is to ensure that key systems are coordinated for optimal energy efficiency and first cost savings, as seen in his work for the University of Florida and University of Miami.

Mechanical/Plumbing Designer and Project Manager
Kyle brings expertise in high rise apartment and multifamily housing design as a mechanical and plumbing designer. Prior to engineering design, his construction experience includes mechanical contracting in downtown Naples, Ft. Myers, St. Pete, and Tampa with residential high rises and retail builds. His experience also includes mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design for the University of Florida, University of Miami, University of Central Florida, Flagler College, and the Florida Department of Health.
